JRJ speaking at what looks like a White house dinner hosted by President Reagan.The eloquence is unmistakable but also listen to what he is saying.


1) He calls the black july "riots a mistake by a few hooligans"
we know this is wrong & that his gov actively supported it.


2) He claims he is sorry about black july, a sentiment he never expressed in his own country or to the victims.


3) He says he wants to make sure such is not repeated again, but his Presidency was violent & brutal.


4) He talks about the importance of making decisions & sticking by them, no matter what, no wavering... what did that give in the long run? corruption, insurrection & conflict among other things.


5) He actively undermined all other institutions of government.
afterall, he knew best what needed to be done for the country, in the end he only ended up being the poster boy for why the Executive Presidency should be abolished.


6) But then again maybe he did get his way, JR's "Bahubutha Viyawasthawa" looks like it can't be changed.


40 Years later, people are still successfully recycling JR's arguments in order to justify why more & more power should be given to one person "for the benefit of the country"
