⁣The Tamil Nadu Government has declared illegal the staging of any demonstration or a hartal campaign in the State..
Even the Indian Supreme Court has barred the staging of such protest campaigns. In a statement, the Tamil Nadu Government said obstructing the movement of traffic or the closure of shops, are illegal. The announcements emphasize that permission will not be granted to obstruct normal civilian life as a result of such campaigns. It added that all those who will be participating in illegal demonstrations will be apprehended.
